170713-N-WF272-001 TOWNSHEND ISLAND, Australia (July 13, 2017) Landing craft air cushions (LCAC), assigned to Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7, conduct 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) forces and equipment offload on the beach as part of large-scale amphibious assault during Talisman Saber 17. LCACs, launched from the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), enabled movement of 31st MEU forces and equipment ashore in order for the MEU to complete mission objectives in tandem with Australian counterparts.
